The Rooms

Each of our eleven rooms at Le Lappe have a wood burning fireplace and have been individually decorated, with furniture from family homes and antique pieces sourced across Europe. Bathrooms have deep soaking bathtubs, most with separate freetanding showers. Though each room is unique, all were expertly hand-painted by renowned Florentine painter Assia Pallavicino and are a celebration of Tuscan artisanal craft and beauty.

Gli Olivi

On the top floor of the Torre is the intimate room Gli Olivi. Painted in a soothing pale green color, the color of our fields in spring, the furniture is upholstered in an English chintz fabric, with a wood burning fireplace adjacent to the bed. Four windows look out in two directions, overlooking the Chianti hills and the gardens, and bathe the room in light from morning to evening.

I Castagni

On the ground floor of the Torre, I Castagni is a memory of the building’s origin as a Medieval watchtower. Walls are several feet thick, keeping the room cool even in the midst of summer, whilst the wood burning fireplace creates a warm atmosphere in the cold months. Two French doors open onto a small private terrace with table and chairs, the perfect spot for a  an intimate breakfast.

I Cipressi

Located on the first floor of the Conventino, I Cipressi has a stunning, white-painted four-poster bed with canopy upholstered in a French floral cotton. Next to the wood burning fireplace, a tall arched opening reveals a deep soaking freestanding bathtub. Through another door is the massive shower room, made of hand-applied Italian water-resistant clay plaster and finished by two small windows offering views across our rose garden and onto the woods beyond.

I Corbezzoli

A corner room on the first floor of the Torre, I Corbezzoli has a double exposure with light from morning to evening. The pale striped walls reflect the colors of our surroundings and highlight the soaring ceilings made with ancient beams and wood burning fireplace. An iron four poster bed is draped with rich hand-finished curtains — the perfect place for a weekend spent relaxing in bed.

I Lecci

Located on the first floor of our Torre and centered around a meticulously restored 16th century Roman bed, I Lecci, recalls the ancient roots of the Torre. Walls are hand-painted, in the Tuscan tradition, to mimic local Siena marble. A pair of deep window seats, which flank the wood burning fireplace, are perfect for reading a book while gazing out across the garden.

I Pini

On the first floor of the Torre is I Pini, our suite, with separate dressing room, sitting room, and bedroom. The spaces are filled with family furniture and carefully sourced antiques mixed with bespoke upholstered furniture, of exceptional comfort but all made in the traditional manner. The sitting room, like the bedroom, has a wood burning fireplace and is a fantastic space for a quiet dinner for two or a place to curl up on the large daybed and loose oneself in a book borrowed from our library.

I Tigli

Located on the first floor of the Conventino, I Tigli is entered through a soaring corridor that has been hand-painted in a traditional medieval Florentine motif. Inside the bedroom, facing the wood burning fireplace, a large antique four-poster bed is hung with beautiful hand-finished curtains, facing a window which looks out across the rolling wooded hills of our estate.

Le Acacie

Entered through a spacious dressing room complete with an antique Genovese desk and a massive 17th century wardrobe, the bedroom of Le Acacie, located at the garden floor of the Conventino, is hand-painted with a delicate olive-leaf motif, inspired by the olive trees just outside the door. The bedroom has a pair of French doors which open onto a small private garden area with table and two chairs, the perfect spot for a breakfast overlooking the Chianti hills.

Le Eriche

On the garden floor of the Conventino, Le Eriche, has a shaded private garden encircled by flowering rosemary bushes — the perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening aperitivo. The bedroom is a masterpiece of artistry, completely hand-painted from floor-to-ceiling in a botanical pattern by renowned artist Assia Pallavicino. Next to a wood burning fireplace, is a large antique writing desk adjacent to two windows look out to a garden planted with fig trees and the hills beyond, which bathe the room with warm afternoon light.

Le Ginestre

Named for the distinctive yellow flowers that bloom across the estate and fill the air with their sweet aroma, Le Ginestre is on the top floor of the Torre and has a commanding view across the Chianti hills and the Val d’Arno from its four windows. A pair of deep windows have traditional mattress cushions — an ideal place to curl up on lazy afternoons, made even better in colder months with the wood burning fireplace

Le Querce

Within the Conventino building, Le Querce, has an extraordinary antique Baldacchino bed originally made for a palace in Genoa and expertly restored by museum specialists in Florence over a period of several months. The traditional beamed ceiling has been delicately hand-painted with the tower of our family crest.
